Two mortgagee properties were auctioned form the Harcourts Auction rooms at Lower Hutt on Wednesday 5th August 2009. There was a great crowd in attendance with both properties being sold on the day.
Greg Edwards of Harcourts Lower Hutt who marketed the home at 101 A Rata Street, Naenae says "this is a builders bargain and a great opportunity to complete this package, do the landscaping and stamp your own mark." L.V only was available for this property at $112,000.
In a good location, close to schools and transport and sited for all day sun this all adds up to a great package to be bidding on and at least three bidders fought it out with the property eventually selling for $192,500 under the Auctioneers gavel.
This auction was followed by a commercial mortgagee auction at Unit 1, 408 Hutt Road, Lower Hutt. Nick Ursin the Harcourts commercial expert in Lower Hutt marketed this unit and says "this single floor unit has great exposure is currently tenanted and has parking for three vehicles." No R.V was available and the unit was sold immediately after auction to the highest bidder for $244,000.
After the Lower Hutt auctions, Auctioneer Mick Robbers moved over to the Upper Hutt office to complete another five auctions for Mike and Tania Ledger. The first auction up was 57 A & B Oregon Drive, Maoribank where two units were available. Currently returning $28,000pa for one three bedroom unit (80m) and another two bedroom unit on separate titles. Mike says "with an HRV system, garden shed and off street parking the package was enhanced by a good local school and being close to transport and Upper Hutt City. R.V is $335,000 for the complete site of 572m2 and was sold under the hammer at auction for $327,000.
