Stunning estuary views were definitely a feature of this property accprding to marketing consulatnt Marty Ritchie of harcourts Paremata. The home had been tastefully renovated and featured four big bedrooms, an office, two bathrooms, internal access double garaging and modernised kitchen with expanisve living areas. It was beautifully presented and received competitive bidding before it was sold under the hammer for $481,000. The R.V was $480,000 and the land area 784m2

Waikanae Bare Section Sells Under Hammer

15 Kawau Grove in Waikanae offers attractive Kapiti views from this sloping elevated site, with the land area being a generous 1072m2. With a R.V of $205,000 the site proved popular and achieved an under the hammer sale of $152,000. The section was marketed by Paul Workman of Harcourts Waikanae.

Renovated Villa in Eastbourne Sells for $832,000

Mahoe Street in Eastbourne is a quiet tree lined street that attracts the sun, has minimal through traffic and is very tightly held. Number 9 fits into this area extremely well and over the years has been tastefully remodelled from the original cottage and has successfully blended old with new, featuring four bedrooms on two levels, multiple living areas, modern kitchen and a neat indoor/outdoor flow. The location is very popular amongst Eastbourne buyers according to consultant Mary Greig-Clayton and was not surprised the auctioneer bought the hammer down at $832,000 after competitive bidding.

That certainly was a selling point for this four bedroom family home in what is obviously a sought after location. POSITIVE FARM SALE

Susanne Cottle of the Harcourts Rural Team took a 128 hectare (316acre) farm at Ohau just south of Levin to Auction. Following competitive bidding which started at 1.8 million the property reached $2,620,000 before Auctioneer, Stuart Pescini brought the hammer down.
"Land holdings of this size and quality are rarely offered in the Horowhenua" says Sue Cottle. Strong interest saw the property sell over the R.V of $2,150,000 which reflects the importance of such land in the Horowhenua.

Well we are into December already, if someone knows what happened to 2009 then please let me know!


The market in November definitely did not set the world on fire and when the stats come out you will probably see a drop from October which wasn't predicted in most quarters. Nevertheless market driven owners are getting results and in consequence there is normally a lot of interest in our Mortgagee and Estate sale list.


Sold from last newsletter is 128 Mako Mako Road, Levin, a rural property of some 7606m2 which was set up as a dog kennel complex with a two bedroom home and a R.V of $309,000. Passed in at auction on 14th October and has sold since for $260,000.


On Thursday 26th November we sold for the mortgagee 247 B Flightys Road in Pauatahanui - see our post 247B Flightys Road Sells at Auction.

Auctioneer's Hammer Falls at 12 Huia Road, Days Bay

Days Bay in Eastbourne is a special piece of New Zealand and Huia Road which is situated in the middle of Beech trees with native birds making it a sanctuary is testament to that. Number 12 is delightful with two levels, four bedrooms and lovely bush views out to the east. The buyers definitely loved it according to Harcourts Consultant, Mary Greig-Clayton. The R.V was $610,000 and the auctioneer's gavel came down at $590,000. The property boasts a spacious 3074m2 more or less site with the bulk of that being bush clad privacy.

Pauatahanui Lifestyle Proves Popular

Coastlands Auction Room was packed as Harcourts Auctioneer, Stuart Pescini sorted through the bidders to sell 247B Flightys Road under the hammer for the mortgagee. The modern home boasted a floor area of 260m2 featuring four bedrooms, three car garaging and brilliant indoor/outdoor flow. The land featured a generous 5.295ha of undulating contour ideal for horses, sheep or cattle. A large barn/shed with cattle races supported the land and a special feature was the long concrete driveway that gave access from wrought iron gates, sweeping up to the elevated dwelling that provided excellent views over the property. The R.V was $990,000 and the under the hammer sale price was $700,000. The whole package was promoted and marketed by Lisa Cody of Harcourts Paremata.

On the bus route and zoned for the popular Kapanui School the property had a R.V of $285,000 and realised an under the hammer sale price of $275,000.
